Douglas Duane Airhart, 71, passed away suddenly on August 1, 2025, after a long and difficult health battle. Born March 24, 1954, Doug was the oldest of five children to Donald and Florence Airhart. He grew up in Minnesota and eventually split his time between there and Bonita Springs, Florida.

Doug was a proud Marine, a hardworking single dad, and a man of routine. He raised his kids with love and structure and was known for cooking elaborate meals and prioritizing time with family. Sunday breakfasts and dinners were important to him and became traditions carried through the years. He loved country music, gardening, hunting, fishing, and RV camping especially during weekends spent in Garrison, Minnesota, while his kids were growing up.

In 2005, Doug met Martha, and they spent the next 20 years together. They loved to travel in their RV and enjoy quiet time at home.

Doug was a private man of few words, but his love for his family showed through his actions. His kids became strong, dedicated parents themselves, which speaks to the values he passed down.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; his children, Tracy, Doug Jr., Jason (Lori), Kimberly (Jason), Chris (Renee), and Sydny (Skyler); his grandchildren, Jessica, Tony, Jake, Leah, Chloe, Anthony, Sawyer, and Sabrina; and his siblings, Robert, Janet (Tim), and Michelle (Todd). He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Florence; his brother, David; and his son-in-law, Jeff.

A memorial will be held on August 23 in Crosby, Minnesota. More details to come.
