Dolores Jean Mayo, passed into the arms of our Lord on November 28, 2025.
Dolores was born in northern Minnesota on February 8, 1929, to Raymond and Myra Witherill. She grew up with her sister, Barbara.
Dolores was a devoted stay-at-home mother to her two children, Dawn and Tamara, and a loving wife to Lester “Bud” Mayo. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
She loved to bake and cook—and she was truly exceptional at both. Most of all, Dolores loved her family and served God with all her heart. She had a deep desire for others to know Jesus and have a personal relationship with Him. A true prayer warrior, she led a prayer chain for many years and volunteered countless hours at her church. After her children were grown, she continued serving by working the prayer phone lines, offering support, comfort, and prayer to those who called.
Dolores took ministerial courses and became a licensed minister, even performing weddings. She and Lester opened their home to people in need, offering shelter, help, and compassion to all who came through their door.
She raised her children to love and follow God, teaching them to feel and know that He is real. Throughout her life, she led many people to Jesus, always striving to help others build a relationship with God. This was her greatest calling and her life’s purpose.
In her final years, dementia took her mind, but Jesus lovingly held her heart until the moment He called her home—when she heard Him say:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
