Stanchfield

David G. Larson was born June 11, 1942, in Columbus Township of Washington Co. He passed away unexpectedly on January 29, 2020, at his home in Stanchfield, Minnesota.

David was born June 11, 1942, in Columbus Township.  He attended Woodland Country School and later Forest Lake Elementary and graduated from Forest Lake High School.  He was the senior class president.

David enjoyed farming, where he earned his nickname, “Farmer Dave.”  He loved animals, to include, cattle, horses, and dogs.  In his free time, David loved to fish as well as deer hunt. He also loved to dance and was very good at it.  David was involved with the Minnesota 7th Calvary and Civil War reenactments.

He was an excellent carpenter and could fix just about everything.  If anyone had a problem with something, they would know they would just have to ask David and he'd know how to fix it.  And he had to do everything in perfection.  David worked at Cream of Wheat, dairy farming and then carpenter for Yerigan Construction.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Elizabeth.  Survived by partner and best friend, Jill Hawkinson; children, Michael D. Larson, Debbie Holman; grandchildren, Ashley Holman, Aaron Olson; siblings, Dennis (Diane), Carol Grimes, Candyce (Daniel) Pierro; nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2020, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN 55025.  Family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service.
