Constance, "Connie" Hendrickson, age 77, formerly of Forest Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Connie was born on July 5, 1948, the daughter of William and Minnie (Erickson) Wicker. She graduated from North St. Paul High School with the Class of 1966. That same year, through a mutual friend, she met the love of her life, Charlie Hendrickson. After several years of courtship, they were married on June 13, 1970, at Cross Lutheran Church in Maplewood, Minnesota.
Throughout their life together, Connie and Charlie lived in various suburbs of the Twin Cities before settling permanently in Forest Lake in 1988. In 2022, they relocated to Eden Prairie as Connie’s health began to decline.
Connie was an extraordinary wife, mother, and homemaker. Her love language was unmistakably caretaking—she had a deep and genuine gift for nurturing those around her. She was known for her delicious home-cooked meals, warm hospitality, and the welcoming home she created for family and friends alike.
She had a creative and practical spirit, enjoying sewing, crafting, gardening, and exploring the world. In retirement, Connie and Charlie traveled more than 130,000 miles in their RV, visiting 48 states and Canada—cherished adventures that brought them great joy.
Connie will be remembered for her loving and gentle nature, her quiet strength, and her many talents. She was welcoming, creative, reserved, and resourceful—a true example of grace and warmth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Minnie; her beloved son, Jeff; and her niece, Jenny Wicker.
She is deeply missed by her devoted husband, Charlie; daughters, Julie (Nate Anderson) Hendrickson and Laura (Joel Peterson) Hendrickson; cherished granddaughter, Hannah Peterson; siblings, Mike (Wanda Cone) Wicker, Pat Wicker, and Bill (Ceil) Wicker; as well as many nieces, nephews, lifelong friends including the “East Side Gang,” and all those blessed to know her.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota. The gathering will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. A celebration of Connie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 9300 Scandia Trail North, Forest Lake. Private interment will take place at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church Columbarium, Mahtomedi, Minnesota.
