Cheryl Rae (Amren) Granlund, daughter of Margaret and Oscar Amren, was born August 27, 1944, in Thief River Falls, MN. She grew up on a farm east of St. Hilaire. She attended school in St. Hilaire through eighth grade and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1962. After graduation, she moved to St. Paul, MN and in September of that year, went to work for Space Center, Inc. (formerly St. Paul Terminal Warehouse Co.) and she retired from Space Center in 2012. In 1966, she married Charles Granlund and to this union three daughters were born: Renae (Michael) Jensen, Woodbury, MN, Rachelle (Scott) Wakefield, Duluth, MN, and Alycia (Jim) Kirkevold, Hudson, WI. For many years they made their home in White Bear Lake, MN. In 2018, Cheryl moved to North Branch, MN.
She is survived by her daughters, seven grandchildren, Mitchell and Elizabeth Jensen, Dustin, Caden and Anders Wakefield, and Joey and Jack Kirkevold; one brother, Thomas Amren, San Antonio, TX and sister, Marlys (Brad) McKinstry, Carlton, MN, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and her very special four-legged best friends, her Saving ‘Grace’ and Maude. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Margaret Amren and her brother, Richard (Marge) Amren. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to the Amren-Jacobson Scholarship Fund in Thief River Falls, MN.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38460 Lincoln Trail, North Branch, MN. Family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
