Charlotte I. Milanovich

Charlotte “Char” Isabel Milanovich, age 89 of Forest Lake, MN passed away on Wednesday January 7th surrounded by her children.

Char was born on June 21, 1936 in Hinckley, MN, she was the daughter of Raymond and Ethel (Bowen) Larson. Growing up her family enjoyed fishing at the family cabin in Remer, MN. Char loved to help her dad as his ‘construction helper’. She graduated from Forest Lake High School with the Class of 1954.

Char worked at 3M in accounting. During her time at 3M, she met the love of her life, Nick Milanovich, who was a mechanical engineer at 3M. The two married in 1966 at St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church in South Minneapolis. Once married they built a house near Bald Eagle Lake in the Oakshore Park neighborhood, where they raised their two children Nina and Luke. Char and Nick enjoyed the outdoors – fishing, skiing in Montana, golfing at Tartan Park, canoeing and visiting state parks in their RV. She was an avid quilter, loved to bead and frequently had a puzzle in progress on the dining room table. Dogs and cats were a big part of Char’s life and she volunteered at the Humane Society.

Char was preceded in death by her husband Nick Milanovich. She is survived by her children, Luke Milanovich and Nina Milanovich Dienst (Jay) and their sons, Jay R. and Jack Dienst. Her siblings Shirleyanne (Ron) McCormick, Dean (Donna), Joan (Jim) Black and Mark (Kristi).

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the support and love they have received during this difficult time.

A memorial service to honor Char’s life will be Sunday January 11. The family will greet friends starting at 1:00 at Mattson Funeral Home and Cremation, 343 N Shore Dr, Forest Lake, MN 55025.
