On February 18, 2023, Carol Trebelhorn passed away at the age of 74 following a fierce battle to recover from multiple strokes.
Carol Ann Trebelhorn (nee Schwecke) was born on April 29, 1948 to John and Margaret (Mattes) Schwecke. Carol was the youngest of six children in the family. She grew up in Winthrop, Minnesota and truly enjoyed her small-town life. She met her husband, Al, in kindergarten and they were in every subsequent grade together. Carol and Al started dating in high school and they married on September 13, 1969.
They welcomed two daughters a few years later and eventually settled in a home in Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota. Carol enjoyed travel, crafts, gardening, cooking, baking, entertaining and running a collection agency business with Al for 19 years.
Carol especially relished her role as “Grammy Graham Cracker”. Her two grandsons were her pride and joy and she and Al enjoyed trips with them to bookstores, Como Zoo, restaurants, and Maplewood Mall.
In their later years, Al and Carol traveled in the RV they lovingly called “Windy” or “The Bus”. They enjoyed their years together whether they were living in Pine City, Forest Lake or on the road.
After Al died in 2021, Carol moved to Marine on St. Croix to live with her daughter, Megan and son-in-law, Rob. She lived there happily a little over 10 months before she had a stroke and needed additional care.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Allen and many other beloved family members. She is survived by her daughters, Erin (Michael) Krenz, Megan (Rob) Maneske; grandsons, Joseph and Levi Krenz; many additional family members and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held 2-6 PM, on April 23, 2023, at Rudy's Redeye Grill/White Bear Country Inn Best Western Hotel, 4940 Hwy 61 N, White Bear Lake, MN 55110.
