It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Brian Joseph Shoop, a beloved husband, father, papa, son, and friend. Brian, age 50, died suddenly on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Born on February 7, 1974, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Brian was the cherished son of Barry and Lucy Shoop.
Growing up in Chisago City, Minnesota, Brian was a proud graduate of Chisago Lakes High School, Class of 1992. With a passion for engineering, Brian diligently pursued his career and eventually became a skilled mechanical engineer, leaving his mark on various manufacturing companies. He was the co-owner of Xccent and later shared his talents with the team at Bondhus Corporation. His skills spanned the manufacturing industry where he designed various types of equipment including exercise and playground structures.
On April 17, 2010, Brian married his high school sweetheart, Kimmy, in a beautiful ceremony in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Together, they created a warm and loving home in Wyoming, Minnesota. Brian's adventurous spirit led him to cherish moments spent hunting with the Fish Lake Hunting Club, fishing in serene waters across the country, and cultivating his famous tomato trees in the garden 😊
Known for his infectious laughter and storytelling, Brian had a knack for bringing joy to those around him. With a passion for “that weekend” camping trips to Battle Lake, he found solace in nature and the company of family and friends. Brian's culinary skills were a delight to many, always eager to test new recipes and share meals with loved ones with a salt shaker not out of reach. An avid music lover, he found joy in sharing his “singing” with anyone willing or unwilling to listen. You could hear Brian singing along to 80’s hair bands, 90’s country classics and even Adele.
Above all, Brian’s most cherished role was when he became a Papa. Spending time with his grandchildren and their parents was the highlight of life. To his children and grandchildren, Brian was a wise, witty, wonderful man. He was everything to them, he was a legend.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne and Doris, Edward and Mildred; uncles, Gerald, Ron, T, Randy, Dewey; cousin, Kayla; father-in-law, Jim.
