Betty Zeitler

Betty Zeitler, age 75, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, left her failing body and was united in heaven with her beloved husband on Friday, September 1, 2023.  Elizabeth was born December 18, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard and Genevieve Jacobs.  Betty traveled the world as a child.  Her father was a member of the United States Army.  While the family was stationed in Germany, Betty worked as a secretary for the US military and it was there, she met the love of her life, Harry Zeitler, who was working as a German civilian for the U.S. military.  They fell in love immediately and began their life together.  They moved to the United States where they lived in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and finally New York. 

Betty was a devoted and loving wife and mother.  She was always there for her sons; supporting them in their activities, even becoming one of the first female Boy Scout leaders in their town.  You could always find her on the sidelines of their sporting events, rooting them to victory.  Betty and Harry were married for 25 years, before he died suddenly on Christmas night of 1989.  Betty remained in New York for two years before moving to Minnesota to be closer to her boys. 

Betty loved reading, building puzzles, shopping, cooking and cheering for her beloved Green Bay Packers! 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry.  She is survived by her sons, Ryan (Gina), Rory; grandchildren, Zack Christopherson, Tyler Dahlstrom, Anthony (Amber) Dahlstrom, Tallon Zeitler; great grandson, Parker Dahlstrom; other family and friends. 

The days are long, but the years are short.  There is never enough time to fully let those we love know how very much they are loved.  In honor of Betty, take the time to tell those in your life, just how important they are to you.
