Barb Mitsch, of Grant, Minnesota entered eternal life on January 23, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous and hard-fought journey.
She was a devoted wife of 50 years to her beloved husband, Doug, and a deeply loving mother and grandmother. Her husband, children, and grandchildren were her greatest joy and the center of her life. She loved fiercely, gave selflessly, and lived every day for her family.
A faithful servant of Christ, Barb’s Catholic faith guided her life. She especially loved attending Mass and proclaiming the readings, which she saw as a true calling and a way to serve God and her parish. Her faith sustained her through suffering and gave her strength beyond words.
She was a warrior-strong, resilient, and steadfast-even in great pain. Her courage and love will continue to live on through those she leaves behind.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Werner and Bernadette (Berreau) Amerongen; brother, Paul Amerongen; niece, Kelly Amerongen.
She is survived by her loving husband, Doug Mitsch; her children, Brian Mitsch, Joe Mitsch (Michael Hyke), Michele (Tony) Harmening, Monica (Brian) Hodges, Kathy Mitsch, and Teresa (Kyle) Dawley; her cherished grandchildren, Reinee, Reegan, Allie, Jake, Kaitlyn, Logan, Emma, Audrey, Marlowe, Porter, Lettie, and Conrad; six siblings; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
