Barbara Jean Holcomb

Barbara Jean Holcomb “Barb” February 20, 1947- November 12, 2025 Barb was 78 years old when she passed away in the comfort of her home in North Branch, MN. Barb was born on February 20, 1947 in St. Paul, MN to her parents Herman and Margaret Hermel. She grew up with her sister Donna in St. Paul until she was 10 years old. After her mother passed away, they moved to North Branch, MN. Their family was joined by her stepmother and her children Barbara, Sharon, Virginia and Fred.

At just 16 years old Barb married the love of her life, Cliff on June 22, 1963. Together, Barb and Cliff had three boys Rick, Ron and Corey. Barb and Cliff opened their own cabinet shop called Kustom Kitchen and Karpet in Wyoming, MN which they owned for 22 years! Barb was in charge of the office work and bookkeeping while Cliff was building cabinets and out in the field installing. They made it a family business by having their sons also work with them. Along with being a wife, mom and business owner, Barb worked as a social worker, personal care attendant, and did many years of foster care. Barb also enjoyed doing various volunteer work over the years.

Barb and Cliff enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. In their retirement years they spent the winters in Arizona playing cards and bingo with friends. In Minnesota they enjoyed spending time with family and friends and being outdoors. Barb and Cliff were blessed with nearly 61.5 years of marriage!

Survived by her two sons - Rick and Corey; four grandchildren - Keho (fiancée Sami), Cassie (Jesse), Damon (Mikayla) and Cole ; eight great grandchildren - Keeli, Jaylynn, Lyla, Carter, Elianna, Layden, Skylar, and Ryder; Her step-sisters -Sharon, Virginia, and Barbara; as well as many close friends she considered a part of their family.

Preceded in death by her husband Cliff (360 days a part), their son Ron, her sister Donna, step-brother Fred, and their parents.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on Friday December 5th, 2025 at 12 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church located at 31075 Genesis Avenue. Stacy, MN 55079. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service and a light lunch will be served following the service.
