Barbara A. Coruzzi

Jan 18, 1938 — Jun 14, 2026

Formerly of Stillwater

Barbara Ann Coruzzi (nee Mrsny), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Passed away peacefully on Sunday June 14th, 2026, at the age of 88, with her daughter by her side.

Born on January 18, 1938, in Omaha Nebraska, Barbara was the cherished daughter of Leonard and Veronica (Niedzielski) Mrsny. Her gentle spirit and warm heart touched the lives of everyone she met.

On April 23, 1960, Barbara married the love of her life, Bob Coruzzi who she met on a blind date, in Omaha. Together, they shared 59 wonderful years, filled with laughter, love, and adventure, until Bob’s passing in March of 2019. Their journey together was a testament to true partnership, marked by the nurturing of their two devoted children, Kathy and Bob Jr., and the creation of a home brimming with warmth and hospitality.

Barbara and Bob shared a profound love for travel, exploring the beauty of the world from the heights of the Concorde to the elegance of the Queen Elizabeth II. Their travels took them across continents, including Australia, Russia, Italy, Germany and many other countries in Europe, the bustling streets of China to the serene landscapes of the UK. These adventures were a testament to their insatiable curiosity and joy for life, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Barbara had a fulfilling career as a secretary at I.S.D. 834’s central services office. Her dedication and kindness earned her the admiration and respect of her colleagues and superiors, and she cherished the relationships she built during her years of service. Her work ethic and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Barbara’s heart was her family, and she was a constant source of love and support to them all. She is survived by her devoted daughter Kathy Rubio (Eduardo), who spent a majority of her time taking care of Barb, and her loving son, Bob (Lisa). Her legacy continues through her six adored grandchildren, Connie, Belen, E.J., Bob, Antonio, and Matthew, and her precious great-granddaughter, Melina. Each of them carries a piece of her heart and her unwavering spirit.

Barbara & Bob Coruzzi opened up their home to all their family over the years. Hosting wonderful holidays, family gatherings, making and sharing their recipes. That family now get to hold close and cherish for the rest of their days to come.

Barbara’s family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Good Life Senior Living, where she spent her final days surrounded by love, care and Kathy and her family's unwavering and constant support/vigil. Special thanks are also extended to Health Partners Hospice staff for their compassionate support during this difficult time.

Barbara loved her Catholic faith from her childhood all the way until her final moments, constantly praying for her family and loved ones. She prayed the Rosary daily and in her final days was still praying the Rosary.

Barbara’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and the power of family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
