A.R. "Dick Gessner

A.R. "Dick" Gessner, age 84 of Chisago City, Minnesota, died peacefully at his home on May 18, 2018.  Proud and devoted husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Retired banker and dedicated member of the community.  A true gentleman, who we all looked up to and aspired to be like.  A kind-hearted man of many talents, he enjoyed playing harmonica, woodworking, fishing and golfing.  Patient, generous, and always a pleasant man to have in your company.  As time goes by our broken hearts will mend but our love for you will never end.  Preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Anna Mae; his parents, Theodore & Ella; sister, Deborah Fish.  He is survived by his adoring wife of 8 years, Diana McEvoy; sister, Patricia Ryll; children, Carla (Rick) Gwynn, Daniel (Barbara) Gessner, Nadine (Gary Edmunson) Gessner, Diane Petersen, Nancy Rempala, Tom (Mary) Gessner, Amy (Rob) Johnston; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at The Church of Saint Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake.  Visitation will be held from 4-8PM, Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake and one hour prior to the service at the church.  A prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Peter Catholic School or Lakes Life Care Center would be appreciated.
