Allen Corgard

Allen Lee Corgard of Forest Lake, MN, passed away on July 25, 2022, after a
long battle with dementia.

Born on February 8, 1941, to Lloyd (Corgard) and Anna (Thorson) in
Minneapolis.

After graduating high school in Cambridge, MN he began work at Honeywell
as an assembler. He worked his way up to a calibration’s technician in the
defense department, which was later spun off to become Alliant Techsystems.

Allen married April Sommerfeld June 10, 1988. He proudly celebrated 41
years of sobriety and religiously attended his weekly Friday AA meetings.

He retired in 1999 after 40 years of service at Honeywell/Alliant Techsystems
where he and his wife bought a second home in San Antonio, TX. They loved
the sunshine year-round, traveling to visit family and friends, enjoying bull riding,
cruising the world, dancing, and of course golfing.

Allen is proceeded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Anna; wife, April; and brother, Ralph. He is survived by his brothers, Alvin, Tirrell, Gerald, Wayne; daughters (from his first marriage with Charlotte Elaine Corgard, married 1963), Lisa (Steven) Pierce, Rhonda (Keith) Leigerber; stepson, Charles (Stephani) Dorsey; and grandchildren, Erin, Logan, Amanda, Cordell, Cooper.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM, on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Manannah Union Cemetery, Manannah, MN
