Albert Drechsel

Drechsel, Albert E., passed away at the VA Medical Center on Feb. 8, 2002. He was 73 years old. Albert was born May 30, 1928 in Friberg Township near Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He served in World War II and Korea. First in the Marines, then in the Army Corps of Engineers. He married Donna Jean Fischer in Hokoh, Minnesota on November 15, 1952. They moved to Linwood Township shortly after their marriage. He has resided in Linwood Township for almost 50 years. He was a charter member of the Linwood Fire Department. Albert owned his own small engine repair shop. He enjoyed the challange of repairing old moter and conversion with customers. His two favorite hobbies were bowling and fishing. Albert is survived by his three children, all still reside in Linwood Township. Albert Emil Jr., Elizabeth Jane, and Ann Marie (Corrie) Hockensmith. Also by one sister, Elsie Soronen of Fergus Falls. He was preceded in death by his two brothers; Harold and Lester, and one sister; Dorothy, his parents; Henry and Emma Drechsel; his wife Donna in August, 1987. Visitation 5-8 PM Thursday at Mattson Funeral Home and one hour prior at the Church.
