Marion Spencer

Marion B. Spencer (Hamrick) Age 75, of Stacy, Minnesota, died on June 10, 2016. She was born to Kenneth and Hazel Hamrick on April 17, 1941, in Rock Island, Illinois. Marion is preceded in death by husband, Benjamin R. Spencer; parents, Kenneth and Hazel Hamrick; sister, Sharon R. Hamrick; brothers, Larry and Kenneth Hamrick. She is survived by sister, Karlene (Steven) Alqueza; brother, Roy (Mardie) Hamrick; daughters, Maryann Stolz, Penny Spencer, Alaina Spencer, and Kathleen (Marco) Duran; 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends, and pet dog, Scooter. Marion grew up in Rock Island, Illinois, and married Ben on January 20, 1958. The couple lived in the Quad Cities area and had four children there. She was active in her children's lives, volunteering in community causes, leading Girl Scouts, and coaching softball. In the course of her life, she lived in many states. Her last 16 years were spent in Titusville, FL with her husband. Upon Ben's death, and with her health failing, Marion moved to Stacy in March 2015 to live with her daughter Maryann. Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Her Journey's Just Begun: Don't think of her as gone away. Her journey has just begun, life holds so many facets, this earth is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched.
