Gaylord Pittman

May 6, 1937 — June 12, 2012

Gaylord L. "Gabe" Pittman, age 75, of Lino Lakes. While with family and friends, Gabe lost his long fight against cancer. He passed peacefully in his Lino Lakes home of 35 years. Gabe was born to Harry and Doris Pittman in Clear Lake, WI. He graduated from Clear Lake H.S. in 1955. He then went on to become a graduate of Freight Traffic Transportation at Humbolt Inst. of Mpls. He was hired on to C & NW RR of Chicago, IL on October 1, 1956. Gabe was transferred to the St. Paul/Mpls office in December 1977 and settled in Lino Lakes. After working 39 dedicated years for C & NW, it was purchased by Union Pacific RR. Gabe then retired one year later in 1995. Gabe was preceded in death by sons, Charles and Dustin; niece, Darla Olsen. He is survived by Kathy, his wife of 40 years; son, Harry (Paula); daughter, Katie (Troy) Kling; grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, Kyle, Michelle, Savannah, Joe, Sloan, and Vaala; extended family; and countless friends. Funeral Service 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment at Reeve Cemetery, Vance Creek Twp., WI. A dinner will follow.
