He is survived by his mother Pam Savage (Steve Cheney); father Chad Vitek; brother Nick; sister Rose; grandparents, Mary Lou & Dave Vitek, Joanne & Chuck Savage; uncles & aunts, Tony, Dean, Wade (Karen)Vitek, Mike (Dawn) Savage; cousin Austin Savage; his buddy Flash.
Derek enjoyed fishing at the "Winni Cabin" and all gas powered motors. His love for life will live on through all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
